Get Well Soon…In Spanish
Spanish Lesson – Get Well Soon!
Hi Spanish blog readers. This week Jake is very ill (out yesterday and today). As a result, our video didn’t get up yesterday. I thought I would take the opportunity to give you an impromptu lesson on how to have empathy in Spanish.
I hope you take the chance to wish Jake, and anyone else who is ill from our Facebook group, a nice “Get well soon”. Please join us on Facebook Fiesta Friday to talk and chat with others.
Here is the vocabulary:
|I’m sorry you feel sick.
|Lo siento que te sientes enfermo.
|I can only imagine how you must feel.
|Sólo puedo imaginar como debe sentirse.
|What a shame!
|What a shame! (another variation)
|Is there anything I can do to help?
|¿Hay algo que puedo hacer para ayudar?
|I hope you get well (recover) soon!
|¡Espero que te recuperes pronto!
|You will be in our thoughts and prayers.
|Vas a estar en nuestros pensamientos y oraciones.
|I hope things get better soon!
|¡Espero que las cosas se mejoren pronto!
Again, I think it would be great if you all helped me show sympathy for Jake on Facebook – if enough people do it, I’ll text him and have him look at all of your comments.
Note: these Spanish phrases are also useful if you have a Spanish-speaking neighbor or coworker who isn’t feeling well.
